
Cellist Thomas Readett has distinguished himself as a versatile soloist, chamber music musician, and educator, bringing concerts to audiences of all ages.

In 2023, Mr. Readett founded and became the artistic director of the Mystic Chamber Music Series, a 501c3 non–profit organization dedicated to inspiring and growing audiences of all ages through engagement with chamber music performances in local historic venues.
As a versatile soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, Mr. Readett has performed chamber music alongside the American String Quartet, the Dolphin Quartet, Nina Bernat, Rubén Rengel, and Sergey Antonov.
As an educator, Mr. Readett is on the cello faculty at Columbia University Teachers College and works with their 3rd to 8th-grade afterschool strings program. For the past 4 years, he has served as Marion Feldman’s teaching assistant at the Manhattan School of Music pre-college and college.
Thomas grew up in Mystic, Connecticut, and holds a B.M. and M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Marion Feldman and Wolfram Koessel. He is now pursuing an EdM and EdD at Columbia University Teachers College in Music Education and Movement Science with a concentration on the biomechanics of cello playing.
